Community College System-wide Issues
- The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges has recently introduced a new software system with the intent of creating a centralized system for all 34 colleges. This system will be implemented in phases and is currently being rolled out at Tacoma Community College and the Spokane Community Colleges. As this will be a statewide issue we will all be working on this important issue and identifying impacts to membership. Please stay tuned for more updates.
- The State Board for Community and Technical Colleges recently adopted a new allocation model to change the way state funds are allocated to community and technical colleges. This new model will begin in the 2016-2017 academic year and will impact the allocations of all community and technical colleges throughout the state. We recently had a meeting with fellow Union colleagues and a representative of the State Board to express our concerns and gather additional information. This is an important issue and the Federation will be closely monitoring this as it unfolds.
