• TESC Classified. In the past two weeks, the bargaining team for Classified Staff at The Evergreen State College in Olympia have reached tentative agreement on 39 articles during negotiations on the next, 2017-2019 collective bargaining agreement.

The team met May 19, 20 and 25. During the latest session May 25, the team also provided additional information about some initial contract article proposals made by the union team.

The team discussed the plan for the next round of bargaining on June 23. They plan to present economics, counterproposals on several articles and discuss law enforcement issues. “We have asked two subject-matter experts (law enforcement officers) to bring their concerns and perspectives to inform that discussion,” the team reports.

“The tone and tenor of our meetings, thus far, have been collaborative and respectful. While we are in polar opposite positions on several articles, we believe we can get to a middle ground and committed to doing so.”
