Community College Coalition reaches tentative agreement!

The Federation’s Community College Coalition representing some 3,000 on 12 Community College campuses reached tentative agreement on a new two-year contract at 11:12 p.m. tonight.

The agreement includes:

• 3% pay increase in 2015; in 2016, employees will receive the greater of 1.8% or 1% plus $20 a month. This language for 2016 achieves a larger increase for those employees in classifications assigned to wage scales below $15 an hour.

• FIRST TIME EVER SALARY INCREASES FOR PART-TIME HOURLY MEMBERS: 2% IN 2015 AND 2% IN 2016.

• Additional 2.5% salary increase for specific job classifications that will be listed in the contract’s Appendix X.

• TWO additional Personal Leave days, for a total of FOUR!

• ONE additional day of Bereavement Leave for a total of FIVE!

• Double time and a half for those working during suspended operations.

• New language on hiring part-time hourlies.

• New language on additional training.

• NO SIGNFICANT TAKEAWAYS  — The Community College Coalition Bargaining Team held strong.
