COMMUNITY COLLEGE COALITION
The Community College Coalition Bargaining Team met on Wednesday and Thursday this week (Aug. 3 and 4) to continue working for a strong and fair contract for our members.
THANKS FOR YOUR ACTIONS AUG. 4:
The team wants to thank the many WFSE/AFSCME members for the support of the team as shown by attending the rally held at South Puget Sound Community College on Thursday, Aug. 4. We appreciate your time and efforts. Kudos are in order for the speakers, president of SPSCC Timothy Stokes for his kind words of support for our Union, Sen. Karen Fraser of the 22nd District and Council 28 Secretary Tracy Stanley. We’d also like to thank the Federation Staff for all the hard work in providing lunch and refreshments for the 100+ members in attendance. See images and video from the rally and other events around the state: http://wfse.org/aug4/
WHAT HAPPENED AT THE TABLE:
During this negotiation session articles on Compensation, Contracting and Part-Time Hourly’s were proposed with the team showing its determination in securing a fair and strong position for our members. Your Bargaining Team felt insulted and disrespected by management’s proposals and counter proposals regarding Compensation and Part-Time Hourly’s.
Five other articles were tentatively agreed upon with much work ahead.
