Don’t forget: Key public safety pension vote set for Dec. 10

To recap from earlier hotline, website and Washington State Employee news stories, the Select Committee on Pension Policy is set to vote Dec. 10 whether to endorse the legislation, EHB 1923, that would expand the Public Safety Employees Retirement System to include DSHS workers in dangerous jobs who provide direct care, custody or safety.

The committee meets 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, Senate Hearing Room 4, J.A. Cherberg Building, on the Capitol Campus in Olympia.

Regardless, EHB 1923 remains alive in the 2013 legislative session. Another reason to sign up for Lobby Training so lawmakers hear the stories of our members in need of this pension change. Contact Liz Hall at 800-562-6002 or to register. Online registration is also coming soon. Check at
