The Federation’s General Government Bargaining Team met Tuesday (March 4) to amp up preparations for negotiations – and most importantly to activate General Government members as we all push for a strong contract.

The team underwent intense training on new tools to reach out to members and make sure their voices are heard as we build the next contract. Said the team’s Communications Committee: “We’ll call on you to be active participants in this effort to build a strong contract. The goal is the best contract and with all members taking part in activities at the worksite, at local meetings and elsewhere, management will know we’re all in.”

The team is working on a bargaining survey of all General Government members that will go in a few weeks.

Meanwhile, General Government members in seven agencies that have agency-specific proposals for supplemental bargaining received their respective supplemental bargaining surveys in the mail last week. This is just one of the activities to keep members involved and heard throughout bargaining – you tell the team your priorities and give feedback. Those seven agencies are: Agriculture, Corrections, Ecology, Liquor Control Board, Parks, Social and Health Services (DSHS) and Transportation. The deadline is March 14. They’re also available online at wfse.org; click on the big “Flash” display at the top of the webpage.
