Eastern Washington University:
The team bargains again on Aug. 22, where they expect to continue to focus on compensation.
The EWU team finished up two days of bargaining Aug. 11 and 12.
The chief management negotiator for EWU will be leaving the country on vacation and the labor relations person will be retiring early September.
We hoped to finish early but have been stalled by the employer insisting on status quo language, while the team wants to make substantial changes to compensation and working conditions.
The employer is “not interested” in improving leave accrual, workplace conditions, special pay for hazardous conditions for skilled trades or improvements to the employee evaluation process.
