A record turnout of Retired Public Employees Council (RPEC) members met with their legislators to discuss issues of importance during the 2014 RPEC Legislative Day at the State Capitol Tuesday (Jan. 21).

Atop their list is the opposition to efforts to create a new defined-contribution retirement system (aka Plan 4) for public employees. Sen. Mark Mullet of the 5th Dist. spoke to the retirees saying their communication with their legislators was important to set the record straight, that retired public employees have one of the best-funded and managed pension systems in the country with a modest benefit.

RPEC, like the Federation, is part of AFSCME.
