Time to turn up the heat! See our UW Bargaining Team’s latest update below on why Tuesday’s actions are vital for movement at the bargaining table.

Tomorrow, be a part of the action for a fair contract. WFSE 1488 and SEIU 925 members will hit the streets on their lunch breaks (11 a.m.-1 p.m., more specifics at the end of this message) to send a strong message to management that we need a fair contract!

Join the action nearest you – UW Medical Center, Harborview, Gerberding Hall/Red Square, Sandpoint and UW Tower.

Contact your worksite leader, union steward or organizer for details about times and locations.

The UW Works Because We Do!

UW joint bargaining update WFSE 1488/SEIU 925 for September 15

First the UGLY:

Management did not move one inch on a 1% cost of living adjustment.

That kind of wipes out anything else.

But there was some movement:

They did finally make some moves on a hazard premium pay and one group of WFSE lowest paid workers.

We got good language around safety, and a memorandum of understanding saying the employer is committed to a manageable workload.

That said…1%!!!

Will see EVERYONE at our job actions tomorrow.  We’ll be at: UW Medical Center  and Harborview 11a.m.-1 p.m.; rally at Sandpoint 11 a.m.-1 p.m.; main campus  11 a.m.-1 p.m.; and UW Tower 12-1 p.m.

Tomorrow is the day! The UW must hear us!
