A contract matters and that’s why another group of Washington State University workers has voted to form a union with the Washington Federation of State Employees/AFSCME and Local 1066.
Members of the 12-person WSU Waste Management Surplus Unit on the Pullman campus voted 6-2 to form a bargaining unit with WFSE/AFSCME. That would give them the benefits and protections under the contract at WSU.
Ballots were counted today (Aug. 25) at the Public Employment Relations Commission in Olympia.
The vote comes a week after dozens of WSU members turned out for a big rally – and gained movement in current negotiations for the next contract.
Congratulations to the members of our newest bargaining unit at WSU!
